Anglican worship began with the English Reformation and the edition of The Book of Common Prayer in the sixteenth century. Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury, was the major promoter and the primary architect of The Book of Common Prayer. The first edition of the Book was published in 1549, and it was further revised in 1552. In this essay, I give the background on the English Reformation and the editions of The Book of Common Prayer, then I give a general analysis about these two documents. In the conclusion, I think that Cranmer\u27s Reformation is significant in some aspects. However, he made radical changes in some liturgical practices, such as the reform of the Eucharist.
