“In this study, failure of architectural monolithic glass panel due to blast loading is investigated. A Three-dimensional, nonlinear, dynamic finite element analysis is used to compute the stresses in a panel subjected to blast loading. The blast loading is simulated as a uniform lateral pressure, generated by a shock wave, acting on the exposed surface of the glass panel. The glass panel is modeled as an elastic material. Based on the cumulative damage theory, two-parameter Weibull distribution is adopted to describe the cumulative probability of the glass panel failure. In addition, the effect of ageing or weathering of glass panel on their strength is presented by comparing the damage probability of different aged and new glass panels”--...
