This article addresses the issue of professionalism in early childhood education, from the analysis of two questions that focus on the tasks of early childhood education teacher. The participants were 194 students of Federal University of Alagoas who should mark, within a list of 24 items, all tasks that apply to the ECE teacher in these contexts. Two types of analysis were performed: a prototypical, based on the frequency with which each item was chosen by the group of respondents and the factorial analysis of correspondences, seeking to distinguish the social anchors that guided the choices.
