Different analytical perspectives have emerged in researches on teaching. Making use of some social sciences concepts, this paper brings some research data and analyzes the individual and collective praxis. During the 80's and 90's, researchers on Didactics criticized the area's technicism and suggested it should be overcome. However, it is still necessary to examine what teachers have been doing and suffering in the sphere of socialization - theirs and their students' -, in face of the school's social function.
