The primary purpose of this research is to build an easy-to-use, platform independent system level braking simulator, predicting the performance of the braking system with all-disc brakes. The brake model considers the complete braking action from the brake pedal to the pavement and includes all the sub-assemblies of the braking system. The simulator model considers both the anti-lock braking system (ABS) units non- ABS units and facilitates Taguchi System of Quality Engineering to design new braking systems. --Abstract, page iii
