The coating is a thin layer of transparent nanomaterial composed of TiO2. When applying the coating to glass walls, the organic pollutants that adhere on the glass wall are swiftly oxidised. The pollutants are then transformed into non-toxic CO2 and water when sunlight or light from lamps is casted on the wall. The raindrops falling on the glass surface then form a thin water layer removing the organic pollutants, which achieves the “self-cleaning” purpose
