Within our discussion of methods and methodology, this essay aims to bridge inner-biblical reception and historical-critical method. Processes of literary reception can and should be integrated into an historical-critical exegesis and are able to raise its profile. A brief look at each method step serves as a search for clues where inner-biblical reception evidently, subtly or scantly considered played a role.
