This presentation will discuss the importance of implementing Trauma- Informed practices into the school setting. Childhood trauma and its impact on academic performance and behaviors will be addressed by; highlighting the effects that trauma can have on a child’s cognitive functioning, ability to regulate their emotions, and maintaining interpersonal relationships. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn why childhood trauma is directly correlated to low academic performance.
