Thomas Vance was a student at WMU from 1974 to 1978, involved in the Western Herald and also in the Army ROTC program during that time. Thomas Vance discusses how he came to WMU, his interest in journalism, dorm life, discrimination as a veteran on campus during the 70s, minority and international students, and influential professors. He describes his role as editor at the Western Herald, the equipment, and sports events covered. He also recalls the faculty strike of 1975.
