Anions such as fluoride are found in the environment and in human bodies. While good in small doses, large doses of fluoride can cause problems with tooth enamel decay, thyroid hormones, bone formation and brain development in adolescents. In this project, commercially-available compounds will be used to make 1,2,3–triazole molecular sensor to detect fluoride anions. The sensor will be used effectively and selectively to attract a specific anion such as fluoride (F-).
