The semantics of prepositions is studied through the analysis of their cognitive models which expose distinctive features of the language view of world. A comparative analysis of semantic parameters included in the cognitive structures of prepositions “to” and “do” makes it possible to reveal peculiarities of the motion fragment in the English and Russian language view of world. Practical analysis of the article shows that although historical conceptualization of objects relation is the same both in English and Russian, cognitive models of the prepositions and national language view of world are different
