La toma de decisiones al final de la vida es una cuestión generalmente asumida por los cuidadores que tienen en la ortotanasia y la distanasia alternativas discutibles. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, prospectivo, descriptivo y transversal por encuesta en un universo de 64 cuidadores, de 52 pacientes con enfermedad terminal de tipo oncológica, en las áreas de salud del municipio Manzanillo con el objetivo de valorar la percepción familiar de los enfermos terminales sobre la distanasia u ortotanasia como alternativa al final de la vida.
