A scientific investigation over the proximate analysis of coal samples collected from different depth levels of the boreholes located at varying locations within Korba coalfield and Singrauli coalfield of Moher sub-basin have been attempted. The results reveal that the coal deposits at different depths, although go through varying environmental conditions for so many years, there is variation in the quality. From the ash level it is suggested that the coal can be used for the blending purposes. Then it can be suitably used as power coal. Through analysis, further it has been found that coals of Singrauli and Korba coalfield are sub-bituminous and non-caking in nature and that the coal samples belong to grades B, C, D and E types with ash co...
