The paper deals with the analytical determination of the response of roof and pillars of the underground colliery due to opencast blasting. A number of opencast blasts, at all the operating face’s i.e. shovel benches and coal benches were conducted in close vicinity to underground openings. The strata monitoring equipments were installed in the underground mine to monitor the strata behavior. Altogether 17 blasts were performed with varying blast design and charging pattern. Out of 17 blasts, 9 blasts were performed in sandstone bench and 8 were in coal bench. Altogether 34 ground vibration data were generated.
