In April 1885, the Founders' Bell rang out the news of the beginning of a college -- Rollins College. Some years later the bell was moved from the Congregational Church to a platform in front of the Rollins Alumni House. Then, on November 16, 1956, it was installed in the Knowles Memorial Chapel tower to ring again
