Open Data Intermediaries in Developing Countries

The study is based on analysis of cases from the Emerging Impacts of Open Data in Developing Countries (ODDC) project. It examines open data intermediaries. Positioned between two agents in the information supply chain, the intermediary facilitates use of open data. Intermediaries help users access information by locating the resources, “integrating various sources on a specific topic, structuring these findings into a form understandable by interested users, and disseminating it to them.” Multiple intermediaries with complementary configurations of capital are more likely to connect between power nexuses.
