Public distribution system : more people rely on the PDS than ever before

We seek to infuse the development discourse with the lived experiences of ordinary people. This first brief evaluates the growth of the Public Distribution System (PDS) between periods of two surveys. The reports on the modest subsidies that households receive through their use of PDS shops. There has been an increase in the proportion of individuals who have Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards, as well as the Antyodaya Anna Yojana card which are given to the poorest of the poor
