RIASSUNTO: Alessandro il Macedone è uno dei grandi re della storia e della leggenda ebraica. Innumerevoli sono le fonti ebraiche, dagli scritti del periodo del Secondo Tempio in poi, che narrano le sue avventure e le sue imprese, quelle storicamente attestate come quelle leggendarie. Il ricco materiale narrativo di questa tradizione compare nella Prima Età Moderna in lingua yiddish. In questo articolo vengono presentate le attestazioni della‘Materia di Alessandro’ nel genere della mayse, la forma brevis più diffusa nella letteratura yiddish antica.
