This report itemizes activities and capacity building relative to biopiracy prevention. The project has succeeded in integrating the efforts of national pubic and private institutions, including NGO´s, indigenous people’s organizations, and research institutions, in confronting misappropriation and illegal access to genetic resources and traditional knowledge. Results of the project can be measured for example, in the abandonment of a series of international patents requested and granted over Peruvian genetic resources through direct action of the National Commission for the Prevention on Biopiracy
