This study assesses the sustainable energy potential of biomass resources in Cambodia and calculates the environmental and economic costs of rural energy consumption, comparing the effect variances under different structures of energy use. The aim is to put forward an energy policy for environmental management. Most rural households in the study area remain in a state of energy poverty, relying mainly on firewood for daily consumption such as cooking, boiling water, and preparing animal food.
