Radio programmes, newsletters, workshops and policy briefs are useful knowledge translation (KT) tools in galvanizing research users to improve the governance and equity of health systems. The project “Strengthening Health Systems Governance in Latin America Phase I” sought to improve governance and increase equity of health systems by implementing a participatory system to monitor public health policies and health care inequities in six rural municipalities in Guatemala. The research evidence and results were provided to civil society organizations (CSOs) in interested communities, who then strategically disseminated the findings and achievements through various media (community radio, audio-visual material and newsletters)
