The brochure covers important developments in the status of the marine environment of Kenya. It provides recommendations on improving marine resources and livelihood sustainability. The overall objective is to enhance knowledge regarding the contribution of biodiversity conservation to livelihoods and to assist communities in demonstrating its importance to politicians and senior policy makers. Despite vast coastline resources, marine fisheries in Kenya contribute less than 5% of total national fish production.
