This special issue covers a range of ICTD research themes, focusing on six ICTD projects from the Strengthening ICTD Research Capacity in Asia (SIRCA) programme. The articles provide a window into how different communities in Bangladesh, China, India and the Philippines have adopted technologies to improve their lives, and indicate the nuanced and complex issues involved in the ICTD domain
