This study is based on an in-depth analysis of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor-National Report for Palestine (GEM) datasets that led to an assessment of entrepreneurial activity in Palestine and the development of recommendations aimed at private sector actors as well as policy makers. Taking part in the GEM initiative provided the research team with experience of sharing expertise internationally, and coordinating research across borders. In relation to continued occupation and Israeli closure policies, the Palestinian economy has a need for dynamic and supported entrepreneurs capable of establishing businesses that can operate within the current political climate
