EDGE network first annual conference : final technical report

Conference: Embracing Change : Responses to the Emerging Economies, 23-24 November 2006, Ottawa, ON, CAOn 24 November 2006, the Emerging Dynamic Global Economies (EDGE) Network, a “New Initiative” founded under the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) to help secure Canadian success in the rapidly changing world economy, held its inaugural conference titled: “Embracing Change: Responses to the Emerging Economies”.1 This major international conference brought together top researchers in international economics, public policy, business and law, as well as business leaders and senior government representatives from Canada and around the world. On 23 November, experts from Canada and around the globe participated in smaller workshops focused on four of the Network’s research themes: Competitiveness, Energy, Technology/Intellectual Property, and Trade and Investment. Each workshop was led by an EDGE Network Research Theme Leader and included top Canadian and international researchers. The goal was to establish a work program in each research theme area..
