The study highlights experiences of Kenya, South Africa and Ghana in putting in place legislation for a comprehensive ban on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship. Major lessons from Malawi are then drawn from these experiences. The overall objective of the study was to provide research-based information and accurate data, useful for policy makers in formulating legislation for an effective comprehensive ban on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship in Malawi, in line with the World Health Organization’s MPOWER policy package
