“African Women and ICTs: Investigating Technology, Gender and Empowerment” focuses on women in the information age. The review outlines sections of the book: Part One is about women whose lives have been somewhat changed by ICTs, but in circumstances where they are passive recipients. Part Two considers women in ‘female-only’ ICT spaces, and those who would benefit from such spaces. Part Three describes women who use technology so they have more control over their lives. Part Four introduces us to women who are using ICTs to their advantage – career women from Kenya and Tanzania empowered by technology
