2nd Interamerican Workshop on Tobacco Control Research : Hotel El Mirador Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay March 22-25, 2007The meeting aimed to draft a regional research agenda for tobacco control in order to foster strong and effective public policies in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). LAC is beginning the process of controlling the tobacco epidemic. Many LAC countries still allow tobacco advertising; tobacco taxes and prices are low; health warning labels are weak, and 100% smoke free environments are scarce.
