Although the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) was ratified by Azerbaijan in 2005, many policy makers are not aware of the FCTC and its provisions. The project was to assess the situation regarding observance of national laws and prove that tobacco control efforts should be strengthened and FCTC should be enforced and properly implemented. Results and recommendations of the research were presented to a roundtable of participants through policy briefs and copies of a short report, and to the general public through the media; journalists were also given a policy brief and informed about tobacco control in the country
