There is an ever increasing demand from industry that engineers, especially those in the field of computer science, have a better command of English. This paper reports the pilot ESP teaching project in one of the biggest faculties of engineering in Japan. About 150 second-year students were given the weekly assignment of translating what they had learned in class about a programming language into English. The project was carried out by a team of specialists, both in the content area and language teaching, and implemented on CEAS, an e-learning platform which emphasizes the face-to-face lecture.
