The trend towards a service-oriented economy and the growing importance of services is very much present in Jordan. The proportion of GDP attributable to services in Jordan is among the highest in the region. The paper provides a general analysis of trends in Jordan’s economy as well as a more focused analysis of the services trade. Banking, insurance, air and sea transport, and telecommunications sectors are summarized
