Foram determinados os parâmetros de crescimento de 18 leguminosas usando as seguintes forrageiras: 7 cultivares de Phaseolus atropurpureus DC., 8 cultivares de Glycine wightii, mais 3 cultivares de Stylosanthes gracilis H.B.K., Pueraria javanica Benth e Centrosema pubescens Benth. Foram encontradas reações diferentes entre as leguminosas quando se determinou o peso seco total da planta, área foliar, taxa de crescimento relativo e taxa de assimilação aparente para as três coletas estudadas.
