Participatory Poverty and Development Monitoring (PPDM) monitors poverty and socio-economic changes with selected indicators. These are chosen in a participatory manner and cover priority areas; they must be simple to collect, easy to interpret and preclude subjective interpretations. The paper expands on data collection for the project. Specific indicators include: village/household characteristics; income/expenditure; nutrition and sanitation; employment, labour and wages; assets and credit; women and children; education and health; trade, commerce and nonfarm activities; agriculture and environment; and others. This will assist in building poverty related data and future policy making
