ABSTRACTInventory of medicinal plants in Jayapura district has been carried out to obtain a database of medicinal plantsused by traditional healers (battra). Specific ecological and geographical conditions of the areae were the basisof the selection for study. This study used an exploratory survey method supported by participatory approach fordata collection or ethnobotany participatory assesment (participatory ethnobotanical appraisal, PEA). Basedon the survey, there were found three battra who have practiced as traditional healer in Jayapura district. Thebattra used medicinal plants to treat their patients.
