ABSTRACT Dewandaru (Eugenia uniflora L.) has been reported having several activities such as antioxidant, antimutagenic,antitumor and inhibit DNA polymerase on EVB (Eipstein-Bar Virus). This research aimed to know the cytotoxiceffect of dewandaru leaves extract on breast cancer cell line, T47D and MCF-7. The 70% ethanolic extract ofDewandaru was tested to the breast cancer cell line of T47D and MCF-7 by MTT procedure on the concentrationsare as follows: 31,25; 62,5; 125; 250; 500 μg/ml. The chemical content of the extract was determined byphytochemical screening method. The result showed that cytotoxic activities (IC50 value) of dewandaru extracton breast cancer cell line of T47D was 117μg/mL while on MCF-7 was 155 μg/ml. The phytochemical ...
