HABITAT YANG POTENSIAL UNTUK ANOPHELES VAGUS DI KECAMATAN LABUAN DAN KECAMATAN SUMUR KABUPATEN PANDEGLANG, PROVINSI BANTEN

Abstract. Pandeglang district contain of several sub district areas.Labuan and Sumur sub districts areincluding in the District of Pandeglang. In these areas are categorized as endemic areas of malaria. Malariais a vector borne diseases, it was influenced by three primary factor; Human, parasites and environment.The aim of the study was to assess potential habitat ofAnopheles vagus larvae in Labuan and Sumur subdistricts of the Pandeglang District, Banten Province. The method of the survey was collecting larva withstandard detention of WHO and observation of breeding places of mosquito habitats. The collection oflarva was identified from rearing adult mosquitoes. The habitats of survey was included rice fields, wallow,puddle, excavated wells and dug sand pits, the shores of the moat, irrigation and river estuaries. The result of survey was presenting in which mosquito breeding places in sub-district had differences. Conclusion ofthe observation An. vagus was found on the rice fields, excavated wells, wallow, and puddle inLabuan Sub-district. On the other hand,An. vagus was found in the dug sand pits, wallow and buffalo puddle inSumur Sub district. Almost of all the habitats is potential as breeding places ofAnophelesspecies which can be malaria vector
