The Synergistic Antibiotic Effects of the Polar and Non Polar Bio-Molecules of the Mushroom Species Ganoderma lucidum

The extraction and purification of natural products for antibacterial and antimicrobial use has become a topic of interest for many researchers. The popularity of natural products for antibiotic usage has grown significantly. Mushrooms have been used for medicinal purposes for ages. Recently, researchers have extracted and identified the natural components that are used as natural antibiotics. Previous studies have identified the active compounds in G.Lucidum mushrooms and have tested them against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Research has been performed using both polar and non-polar extracted substances of the G.Lucidum. Previous studies have determined a subtle antibiotic effect that the natural product G.Lucidum has on both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. My research will examine the synergistic effects of the G.Lucidum and other known natural antibiotics on both gram positive and gram-negative bacteria. Little is known about the potential synergistic effects of G.Lucidum with other natural products. The purpose of my research is to measure the zone of inhibition that the combination of G.Lucidum and other antibiotic products has on various bacteria
