This study seeks to analyze Albania before and after the 90’s, the present situation and the consequences of theStalinist regime.The first part of the paper examines Albania’s milestones of the past, mainly EnverHoxha’s communist regime and his economic policies until 1991; how it started, and how it evolved until its end.Then, it will describe Albania after the breakdown of communism, which still had to handle and manage multiple problems while traversing from one stage to another – the train of transition and the internal and external difficulties that come with it.
