Quest for a true and representative democracy in Pakistan has been a strong wish of the people. It was the civilian government as well as the military regime who promised for the establishment of a democratic culture in the country. The paper discusses general elections of 2008 in Pakistan with various trends, change and seats adjustment among different political parties. It was the election which wiped out the dictatorship and paved way for a new way of democracy. Pakistan People’s Party emerged as a biggest political party to form governments in capital, Sindh province and a coalition government in NWFP, while Musharraf’s favourite party PML (Q) faced failure in coming into power.
