The crimes committed in Darfur have captured more attention from the international community. In the year 2005 the United Nations Security Council adopted resolution 1593 to refer the Darfur case file to the International Criminal Court for proper clarifications as to whether or not genocide occurred in the region. The outcome of the Court’s final judgment will be of paramount importance. However, the International community is of the opinion that, acts of human rights violation have been perpetrated against an identifiable group of people in Darfur.
