The objectives of the study were to identify the harmful marine microalgae; their abundance, composition; and determine the associations between coastal water quality and phytoplankton community. One hundred and sixty-five surface water and phytoplankton samples were collected from 15 selected locations along western coast monthly from January to November 2016.
