In this paper, we address the integrative action of research, teaching, and extension, called Encounters with poetry, performed by the members of the Poetic Studies Research Group for seventeen years. Re-present data and theoretical view of the first report on the experience, published in the Signo Journal, 1999 edition, and also generated actions for systematic reports of the group. This article also recovers two book chapters: one published in Diálogos de Sevilha (Dialogues of Seville), and the other one in the book Literatura e outras linguagens (Literature and other languages).
