Using national data from the Core Institute, which collects and maintains the largest database on alcohol and other drug use at postsecondary institutions in the U.S, this study investigates current marijuana use among college students attending two and four-year public and private institutions. Specifically, the goals of this study are three-fold: 1) to assess the extent and scope of marijuana use among college students; 2) to describe attitudes and perceptions about marijuana use, social perception, approval, and risk of harm; and 3) to develop a predictive model to identify factors (i.e., background characteristics, perception/beliefs, engagement/involvement in groups/organizations, personal behaviors, academic performance.) that relate ...
