Midwifery students, in full construction of their professional identity, must acquire the necessary skills to take care of the medical abortion in the birth room. The purpose of this study was to analyze this process of skill acquisition. This study was a qualitative study by semi-structured interviews with ten midwifery students from nine different schools in metropolitan France. We can conclude that the learning and the acquisition of midwifery students skills concerning therapeutic abortion is done at school thanks to theoretical learning and then to the hospital during the internships. They must acquire theoretical knowledge to put into practice all their knowledge, and their know-how. Peer support and experience seem to be paramount in...
