In this study, degradation of amoxicillin and ampicillin (penicillin groups) were investigated using Fenton and Photo-Fenton oxidation. For this purpose, effect of pH, Fe(II), H2O2, initial antibiotic concentrations and temperature were studied to find the optimum condition. Antibiotics and COD measurements were also carried out to determine the most effective conditions. Optimum conditions for pH , Fe2+, H2O2 at 50 mg/L concentration of amoxicillin was 3, 30 mg/L and 300 mg/L, respectively. Under these conditions the removal of COD and amoxicillin was determined as 76.8% and 100% for Fenton reactions and 84.81% and 100% for photo-Fenton reactions, respectively.
