Huzurevinde Yaşayan Yaşlılara Uygulanan Anımsama Terapisinin Yaşlıların Yaşam Kalitesine Etkisi

This research was carried out as a quasi-experimental study to assess the quality of life of older adults after the reminiscence therapy implementation as a nursing intervention, older adults living in nursing home. The population of research was consisted of 84 older adults who live in nursing home of Keçiören Municipalty. The sample of survey was consisted of 32 older people who capable of communicating, not have hearing impairment, dementia and psychiatric diagnosis and agree to participate in the study as a volunteer. The older adults were divided into groups and the 12 sessions reminiscence group therapies were applied. Data for the research was collected by questionaire form developed to determine the socio-demographic characterisitics of the older adults and the quality of life was evaluated by using World Health Organization Quality of Life Instrument Older Adults Module (WHOQOL-OLD). Data analysis were done Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test and Wilcoxon Sign Test. In the research was determined after the reminiscence therapy implementation WHOQOL-OLD quality of life scale six facets score and general score points are decrased according to the pre-test results. Point diffrence between the pre-test and post test was found statistical significant negativetly at the “Autonomy” facets. According to this results is reccomended, reminiscence therapy should carry out the different socio-cultural structure in nursing homes with a larger sample group and randomized control group research.Araştırma huzurevinde yaşayan yaşlılara bir hemşirelik girişimi olarak anımsama terapisi uygulanması sonrası yaşlıların yaşam kalitelerini değerlendirmek amacıyla yarı deneysel türde yapılmıştır. Araştırma evrenini Ankara’da Keçiören Belediyesi’ne bağlı Huzurevinde yaşayan 84 yaşlı oluşturmuştur. Araştırma örneklemini, iletişim kurabilen, işitme sorunu olmayan, demansı ve psikiyatrik sorunu olmayan, çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü 32 yaşlı birey oluşturmuştur. Yaşlılar gruplara ayrılmış ve 12 oturumluk anımsama grup terapisi uygulanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında yaşlıların sosyo-demografik özelliklerini içeren bilgi formu ve yaşam kalitesini değerlendirmek için Dünya Sağlık Örgütü Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği Yaşlı Modülü (WHOQOL-OLD) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde Mann-Whitney U testi, Kruskal Wallis testi ve Wilcoxon İşaret testlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada anımsama terapisi uygulaması sonrası WHOQOL-OLD yaşam kalitesi ölçeği alt alan ve genel skor puanlarının, ön test puanlarına göre düştüğü belirlenmiştir. Ön test ve son test arasındaki puan farkı “Özerklik” alanında olumsuz yönde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda anımsama terapisinin yaşlıların yaşam kalitesini farklı sosyokültürel yapı gösteren huzurevlerinde daha büyük örneklem grupları ile ele alınan randomize kontrol gruplu araştırmaların yapılması önerilmektedir
