Temiz Üretim Uygulamaları: Antalya Organize Sanayi Bölgesinde ISO 14001 Çevre Yönetim Sistemi Uygulayan Firmalar Üzerine Bir Araştırma

The aims of this study are to examine the factors behind the acceptance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) in the firms of the Antalya Organized Industrial Zone (AOSB) and the expected improvements as a result of the practice and to see if they differ according to the firm characteristics. This study explains the concepts such as cleaner production, sustainability and environmental management systems. This research was also carried out to investigate the reasons of the ISO 14001 EMS implementation in the real sector and the analysis of the results according to company characteristics. Factors affecting ISO 14001 EMS adoption of firms were examined within four titles such as financial factors, factors related with environment, factors related with competition and factors for stakeholders. The improvements of firms as a result of ISO 14001 EMS implementation were examined into two parts as titled as the improvements in environmental management activities and the impacts on the overall performance of the company. In order to determine whether these factors vary according to firm characteristics, 14 hypotheses were formed. The appropriate questionnaire method was chosen to conduct the research. A study previously applied throughout Turkey was held in AOSB. The data collected by the questionnaire were analyzed separately for each subscale by statistical methods such as independent samples T-Test, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Test. As a result of the research, the financial factors differed according to the exportation status, the factors related to environment differed according to the number of employees and the factors related to competition differed according to the sector were determined. According to the company declarations, the improvements in the processes related to environmental management activities as a result of the implementation of ISO 14001 EMS differed according to the number of employees. Also the improvements in the overall performance of the company showed differences according to the sales revenue.Bu çalışmanın amacı Antalya Organize Sanayi Bölgesi’ndeki (AOSB) işletmelerde ISO 14001 Çevre Yönetim Sistemi’nin (ÇYS) benimsenmesinde etken olan faktörleri ve uygulama sonucu elde edilmesi beklenen iyileşmeleri ele almak ve bunların firma özelliklerine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini incelemektir. Bu çalışma, temiz üretim, sürdürülebilirlik, Çevre Yönetim Sistemleri gibi kavramları literatürden yararlanarak açıklamış; ISO 14001 ÇYS’nin reel sektörde uygulanma sebeplerini araştırarak sonuçları, firma özelliklerine göre ayrıştırabilmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Firmaların ISO 14001 ÇYS’ye geçişlerinde etken olan faktörler; finansal faktörler, çevre ile ilgili faktörler, rekabet ile ilgili faktörler ve paydaşlara yönelik faktörler olmak üzere dört başlık altında incelenmiştir. Firmaların ISO 14001 ÇYS uygulamaları sonucu elde ettikleri iyileşmeler; çevre yönetim faaliyetlerinde elde edilen iyileşmeler ve firma genel performansına yönelik etkiler olmak üzere iki başlık altında incelenmiştir. Bu faktörlerin firma özelliklerine göre değişkenlik gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek amacıyla 14 hipotez oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma için anket yöntemi seçilmiş; daha önce Türkiye çapında uygulanan bir çalışma Antalya Organize Sanayi Bölgesi’nde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Anket yöntemiyle toplanan veriler bağımsız örneklemler T-Testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (Analysis of Variance-ANOVA), Mann Whitney U Testi ve Kruskal Wallis Testi gibi istatistiksel yöntemlerle her alt ölçek için ayrı ayrı analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda ISO 14001 ÇYS’ye geçişte etken olan finansal faktörlerin ihracat yapma durumuna göre, çevre ile ilgili faktörlerin çalışan sayısına göre, rekabetle ilgili faktörlerin sektöre göre farklılık gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Firma beyanlarına göre, ISO 14001 ÇYS’nin uygulanması sonucu çevre yönetim faaliyetleriyle ilgili süreçlerde elde edilen iyileşmelerin çalışan sayısına göre, firma genel performansına yönelik iyileşmelerin satış hasılatlarına göre farklılıklar gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir
