This study aimed at investigating the benefits and problems of microcredit programs in Şırnak region and determining the characteristics that distinguish women who participate in microcredit programs from those who do not.The results of the analyses showed that women who participated in microcredit programs had similar personality characteristics as housewives, but different characteristics than women entrepreneurs who do not participate in microcredit programs. The results also suggest that women who participate in microcredit programs perceive a positive change in their socio-economic level after using a microcredit loan.
