This commentary explores the ideas underlying Greek identity in electroacoustic music supported by a portfolio of original compositions. The research raises the question whether musical elements such as rhythms, instrumentation and themes that represent Greek music culture could be applied in electroacoustic music and the ways they affect the aesthetic result of a composition. Also, it explores the historic background of electroacoustic music in Greece and raises the question of national identity and the way it has been musically expressed. Elements like rhythm, instruments, forms and themes are presented in order to highlight signs of Greek identity in electroacoustic music.
