Site prototype RESIF de Clévilliers : vidange d'un puits sismique

As part of the Broadband Construction project of the French seismological and geodetic network RESIF, several infrastructures for hosting velocity sensors were tested in parallel on the prototype site of Clévilliers. Among them, three prefabricated seismic wells made of HDPE (polyethylene). The sensor must be placed on a concrete slab. The first well had a closed bottom (for waterproofing) and this slab was poured over it, the second had no bottom (at the request of seismologists, for the quality of the signal) and the slab was poured on the ground, the third had no bottom either but a sealing joint joined the concrete slab and the polyethylene edges of the well. Not surprisingly, the second well was flooded, but also the third, whose never completely sealed seal makes water drainage much slower. Here, a lifting pump was lowered into the well. The drain pipe discharges the water far enough in the hope that it will not return. These first three months of sensorless tests showed that a well infrastructure needed to be completed with a lifting pump and a water level sensor. Their management, in the broadband construction project, has been entrusted to a control and command cabinet installed in the station's technical room.This observation site in Clévilliers now houses a permanent station of the French seismological and geodetic network RESIF, a national research infrastructure dedicated to the observation and understanding of the structure and dynamics of the Internal Earth. RESIF is based on high-tech observation networks, composed of seismological, geodetic and gravimetric instruments deployed in a dense manner throughout France. The data collected make it possible to study with high spatial and temporal resolution the deformation of the ground, surface and deep structures, seismicity on a local and global scale and natural hazards, and more particularly seismic events, on French territory. RESIF is part of the European (EPOS - European plate observing system) and global systems of instruments used to image the Earth's interior as a whole and to study many natural phenomena.Dans le cadre du projet de Construction Large bande du Réseau sismologique et géodésique français RESIF, plusieurs infrastructures d'accueil de capteur vélocimétrique ont été testées en parallèle sur le site prototype de Clévilliers. Parmi elles, trois puits sismiques préfabriqués en PEHD (polyéthylène). Le capteur doit se placer sur une dalle béton. Le premier puits avait un fond fermé (pour l'étanchéité) et cette dalle était coulée au-dessus, le second n'avait pas de fond (à la demande des sismologues, pour la qualité du signal) et la dalle était coulée à même le sol, le troisième n'avait pas de fond non plus mais un joint d'étanchéité faisait la jonction entre la dalle béton et les bords en polyéthylène du puits. Sans surprise, le second puits a été inondé, mais également le troisième, dont le joint jamais complètement étanche rend l'évacuation de l'eau beaucoup plus lente. Ici, une pompe de relevage a été descendue dans le puits. Le tuyau d'évacuation rejette l'eau assez loin dans l'espoir qu'elle n'y revienne pas. Ces trois premiers mois de tests sans capteurs ont montré qu'une infrastructure de puits devait être complétée par une pompe de relevage et un capteur de niveau d'eau. Leur gestion, dans le projet de Construction large bande, a été confiée à une armoire contrôle commande installée dans le local technique de la station.Ce site d'observation de Clévilliers héberge aujourd'hui une station permanente du Réseau sismologique et géodésique français RESIF, une infrastructure de recherche nationale dédiée à l’observation et la compréhension de la structure et de la dynamique Terre interne. RESIF se base sur des réseaux d’observation de haut niveau technologique, composés d’instruments sismologiques, géodésiques et gravimétriques déployés de manière dense sur tout le territoire français. Les données recueillies permettent d’étudier avec une haute résolution spatio-temporelle la déformation du sol, les structures superficielles et profondes, la sismicité à l’échelle locale et globale et les aléas naturels, et plus particulièrement sismiques, sur le territoire français. RESIF s’intègre aux dispositifs européens (EPOS - European plate observing system) et mondiaux d’instruments permettant d’imager l’intérieur de la Terre dans sa globalité et d’étudier de nombreux phénomènes naturels
